Hotel In Bali Packed With Domestic Tourists

Denpasar, Bali, Oct 14 (Antara) - Hotels at a number of resorts in Bali are packed with domestic tourists who are here to spend their Idul Adha holidays, according to a local official of the Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI). "The average hotel occupancy rate in Bali reaches seventy-two percent," PHRI spokesman I Gusti Ngurah Rai Suryawijaya said here on Monday. However, he added, the occupancy rate at hotels in Kuta, Nusa Dua, and Ubud was in the range of sixty-five to seventy-eight percent. "The occupancy rate of the hotels in Kuta is seventy-eight percent," he said, adding that the number of both domestic and foreign tourists in Bali will continue to rise until the end of the year. Although there is a surge in hotel occupancy rate due to arrival of domestic tourists, Suryawijaya said the hotel operators will not arbitrarily increase room rates, having arrived at an agreement with the management of travel agencies.
