Trade Expo Indonesia Starts Today

Jakarta, Oct 16 (Antara) - The Trade Expo Indonesia exhibition kicks off today and will continue till October 20 with more than 2,000 participants from the country`s small and medium enterprises, cooperatives, state-owned enterprises and private sectors displaying their products. "This event is expected to have a multiplying effect on Indonesia`s economy. It will showcase for the visitors the various natural resources and innovative products made by the Indonesians," Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan said here on Wednesday during the opening ceremony of the exhibition being held at Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran. The Trade Expo Indonesia is a strategic medium to build the country`s image as a provider of export quality goods and creative workforce, the minister said. As per the `Trade With Remarkable Indonesia` theme, the Trade Expo Indonesia will display locally-made products in sectors such as automotive, healthcare, pharmaceutical, food and beverages, mines and construction. Till date, more than 8,343 buyers from 106 countries have registered to attend the event, marking an increase over last year`s number of 5,300 buyers.
