President Arrives In Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, Oct 17 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived at the Gedung Agung building of Yoyakarta at noon on Thursday to attend the 30th National Sports Day commemoration. The President and entourage arrived at 1.20 p.m after traveling by land from Pacitan District, East Java. The peak of the National Sports Day commemoration will be held at Mandala Krida Stadium, Yoyakarta, at 3 p.m. On the occasion, a number of sports awards will be presented to athletes who have made achievements as tokes of appreciation of the state. Before leaving for Yogyakarta, the President visited the Goa Gong tourist site in Pacitan. The president was there for about one hour. Accompanying the President to the visit in Yogyakarta included Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik, Forestry Minister Djoko Kirmanto, Education and Culture Minister Mohammad Nuh, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Roy Suryo, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Women Empowerment and Children Protection Minister Linda Agum Gumelar and National Economic Committee Chairman Chairul Tandjung.
