Abu Dhabi: The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has concluded its food, health and educational aid programmes in Tunisia, benefitting thousands of underprivileged families, students and health centres.
Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Foundation said that the Khalifa Foundation has distributed 10,000 food baskets among thousands of needy families, elderly people and people with special needs.
It has also distributed 5000 school bags and 12 ambulances and more than 50 medical equipment.
He further said that the programme comes within the foundation's strategy to provide support for the needy people inside and outside the country, especially those facing difficult economic and living conditions or have struck with natural disasters and wars.
He added that the foundation has succeeded in implementing the humanitarian programme in Lebanon during the current year, which is deemed to be the largest in the region. Over 100,000 displaced Syrian and Palestinian families have benefited from the project at a cost of Dh 70,000 million.
