Kazakhstan starts developing standards of Customs Union technical regulations

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan jointly with KazdorNII JSC started developing 11 Interstate standards of the Customs Union technical regulations on Safety of motor roads, the Ministry press service said on Wednesday.
"Safety of motor roads is one of the first technical regulations, which was approved after the formation of the Customs Union. Such a regulation did not exist before either in Russia or in Belarus, and the technical regulations operating in Kazakhstan was taken as the basis", chairman of the Highway Committee under the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications Zamir Saginov stressed.
In total, within the Program on development of standards, the Customs Union member countries should develop 110 standards. Of these, Kazakhstan entrusted with developing 11 and examining 99 interstate standards by late 2015.
In particular, Kazakhstan is to develop standards for establishing bridges, winter maintenance of roads, geometric elements of roads, traffic lights, road classification and their diagnosis.
At present, KazdorNII JSC has received more than 60 standards from Belarus and Russia for expertise.
Development of the first edition of the standards will be completed by late 2013.
