Foreign Ministry: Israel not intends to intervene in issue of extradition of Georgia’s former Defence Minister

Georgia, Tbilisi, October 31/Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/ Israel not intends to intervene in the issue of extradition of Georgia's former Defence Minister David Kezerashvili from France to Georgia, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin said during his visit to Georgia on Thursday. "This is a matter of French and Georgian justice, and it does not hurt Israel's judicial system," he stressed, saying that the issue of extradition of Kezerashvili are decided by French and Georgian courts. Georgian former Defence Minister David Kezerahvili who was detained in France and who has Georgian and Israeli citizenship asked the French court to release him from the arrest for the period of reviewing the procedure of extradition to homeland. The relevant request was submitted by Kezerashvili's lawyers. It will be reviewed by the city court of Aix-en-Provence on October 31.
