Judicial Commission Spokesman Resign

Jakarta, Nov 1 (Antara) - Judicial Commission spokesperson Asep Rahmat Fajar formally resigned from his post citing a need to focus on his education. "From Nov. 1, 2013, I will no longer serve as a spokesperson for the Judicial Review," said Asep in Jakarta on Friday. Asep also conveyed his gratitude to all media persons for their support since January 2011 as he carried out his duties in his role as the judicial commission spokesperson. "Those who require a statement from the commission can contact the Commissioner directly for now," Asep added. Asep began his career at the Judicial Commission in 2005, working as an expert until 2009 before taking a two-year break to study for a Masters degree at the International Institute for Sociology of Law in Spain. After completing his degree, Asep returned to the commission and was appointed as its spokesperson. Asep, who received his bachelors degree from the University of Indonesia`s Law School, will now pursue a doctorate in the politics of law from the perspective of the sociolegal environment in the Netherlands. "I have to prepare over November and December. God willing, I will be on my way to the Netherlands in January. The study program will take up to four years, and I will need to commute to Indonesia to conduct research for it," he said.
