Thousands of Seychelles children receive clothes from UAE's Red Crescent

Abu Dhabi: The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) of the UAE distributed clothing to thousands of underprivileged children in Seychelles as part of the second phase of the Clothe One Million Underprivileged Children campaign which launched earlier this year by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. RCA recently procured the clothes from local markets to give them out to targeted children at four schools in cooperation with local relative authorities in underprivileged communities. Chairman of the Board of RCA, Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouie, said the agency's effort in Seychelles was part of the UAE's international humanitarian outreach. Al Mazrouie said such initiatives reflect positively on the future of millions of children under harsh humanitarian conditions are deprived from many of their basic rights the provision of which is the responsibility of the international community and philanthropists RCA has implemented its part of the first phase of the Clothe One Million Underprivileged Children campaign benefiting more than 1.44 million children in 34 countries at a cost of more than Dh87.6 million. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
