Syrian Premier Meets With Majlis Speaker

Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA – Visiting Syrian Prime Minister Wael Al-Halqi met with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on Saturday afternoon. In the meeting, Larijani underlined that Iran keeps supporting Syria against attacks of the terrorist groups and their foreign supporters. According to the report of Majlis website, Larijani said that resistance of Syrian people and government against attacks of terrorist groups has changed the situation in the country. He expressed confidence that with the continuation of Syrian people resistance against such pressures, the country will witness political and military success. He called for collective cooperation of regional countries to control such incidents, which are very important for security and stability of the region. Al-Halqi appreciated Irans support for Syria and said that Syrian people will never forget Irans humanitarian aid in such a difficult situation. He also felicitated Irans agreement with Group 5+1 in Geneva talks and added that the agreement will open a new atmosphere in regional ties. Al-Halqi stressed that Irans success had a great effect on Syrian development and it was beneficial for Syrian nation. He also presented a report on developments in his country and Syrian Army operations in different areas of Syria to confront with terrorist groups. Referring to participation of his country in the upcoming Geneva Conference dubbed as Geneva 2 without any pre-condition, al-Halqi said that Syrian crisis would be settled only through Syria-Syria solution and dialogue among different Syrian groups./end
