Mohamed bin Zayed receives Egypt's popular diplomacy delegation

Abu Dhabi: His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces met yesterday at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi the visiting Egyptian popular diplomacy delegation, made of prominent cultural, social, media, religious, business, legal and artistic figures.
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the delegation members and said: The UAE has always sought to stand by Egypt, not because we favour one group over another, but because we firmly believe that strong Egypt is a key stabilising force in the Arab world and the whole region." He added that the UAE will continue its support to Egypt in a way that will reflect positively on its stability and economic development.
Sheikh Mohamed referred to the deep-rooted ties the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had established with Egypt and the current growth of these ties under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He said he was confident that the people of Egypt will be able to overcome all challenges and to shape the future of the country to regain its pioneering position both regionally and internationally.
Sheikh Mohamed also stressed the role played by Al Azhar Al Sharif in spreading the true values of Islam and its importance as a beacon of tolerance and centrism.
The Egyptian delegation members offered greetings to Sheikh Mohamed on the UAE's national day anniversary.
Ahmed Al Zind, Chairman of Egypt Judges' Club, who is heading the delegation, thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the warm hospitality extended to the delegation.
"We are one country. one culture and one heart. We will never forget the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's stand by Egypt during October 1973 war." He also lauded the remarkable progress made by the UAE under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
