GCC united on social and Arab issues: Minister

Amman: The United Arab Emirates participated in the 41st GCC coordinative meeting for GCC Social Affairs Ministers Council, which was held on Saturday in Amman. The UAE delegation was led by Mariam Bint Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs. Al Roumi presented the great achievements accomplished by the UAE in the field of brainstorming on the issues of health and education, which resulted in receiving more than 85,000 participations. The Minister suggested that the GCC should have opportunities for brainstorming in the social field to examine new ideas, suggestions and thus contribute to the development of social work in the GCC countries. She added, “The meeting of GCC Social Affairs Ministers Council this year was constructive and its works were characterised by keenness on the unity of the stance of the GCC Countries, noting in this regard that the GCC countries are keen to have a common vision about social and Arab issues out of its interest in supporting the Arab social work and providing assistance to Arab countries that suffer from some obstacles that prevent the financing of some development and social projects.” – Emirates News Agency, WAM
