Arab Parliament Speaker calls on international community to take urgent relief to Syrian refugees

Amman: The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Ahmed Mohammed Al-Jarwan, has called on the international community and all international organisations to honour their responsibilities towards the suffering of the Syrian people and increase their support to countries that are hosting Syrian refugees to help them by providing better living conditions for them. Al-Jarwan called on all Arab countries to provide the required aid and assistance to the Syrian people and support the hosting countries for the Syrians to ensure a decent life for them. He made his remarks yesterday during a visit by the Parliament's delegation to Al Zaatari camp for Syrian refugees in Jordan, while participating in the 2nd session of the 2nd ordinary second annual meeting 2013 - 2014 of the first legislative chapter of the Arab Parliament. The Speaker hailed Jordan's role in supporting the Syrian people in their crisis, stressing the Parliament's solidarity with all the efforts of the Kingdom and its full support for the Syrian people. The delegation was briefed on the situation of Syrian refugees in the camp and the problems they are facing. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
