SAUDI RADIO AND RI'S HAJJ MEDIA CENTER ESTABLISH COOPERATION

Jeddah, Nov. 20 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hajj Media Center (MCH) and Saudi Arabian Radio have established cooperation to broadcast the 2008 Hajj pilgrimage rituals.

"The cooperation will facilitate the information dissemination to Indonesian Muslims, including those who are performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi," Director General of Saudi-state Radio Adnan Muhammad Sho'idi said here on Wednesday.

The Jeddah-based radio broadcast the implementation of Hajj pilgrimage in the Indonesian language every year.

The MCH delegation was led by MCH Coordinator Ahmad Gufron in the visit to the Saudi radio.

The Indonesian Hajj Media Center earlier signed a cooperation agreement with Saudi daily Al Nadwah on Hajj reporting during the 2008 Hajj session.

The Saudi government hoped to provide information on Hajj as best as possible to Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia, which had sent the largest number of pilgrims to Saudi, Al Nadwah Chief Editor Ahmad bin Salah Bayusuf said here last Monday (Nov. 17).

Al-Nadwah has published additional pages on Indonesian language during the Hajj pilgrimage season since four years ago, according to Dr Fahmi, an Indonesian national who works as an editor in the Saudi daily.

This year, around 202,000 Indonesians are to perform Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi.
