Bonn hosts Mongol studies event

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Department for Mongolian and Tibetan Studies Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn is planning to conduct a workshop about Mongolia. The event will take place on January 15-17. The event is designed as a workshop in order to foster lively discussions on issues and topics concerning contemporary Mongolia, including their historical backgrounds. The primary goal of the event is a productive exchange of ideas. The gathered will focus on: processes of social, economic, political and cultural change within shifting global contexts and horizons, new orientations (partially caused by foreign/new influences), changing normative ideas (including new ideals, neo-traditional tendencies), as well as processes of ‘mongolization’. As framework the event will use the multiple and entangled relations between pre-socialist, socialist and post socialist notions of globalization.
