Education key to Sharjah’s vision, Sultan says

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, on Saturday attended the commencement ceremony of the first group of the 14th batch of graduates of the University of Sharjah at the Sharjah University City Hall. The 14th batch comprised 873 graduates — 473 men and 400 women. Dr Sheikh Sultan is also the president of UoS. Addressing the gathering of academics, Dr Sheikh Sultan said education and human resource development are key to Sharjah’s growth. He added that his vision for Sharjah was envisaged following exhaustive studies and plans and that resources had been secured to realise that vision. “Graduates of today and those of previous years generate the increasing returns from investment in building qualified Emirati human resources, who will contribute in driving our community towards growth, development, progress and welfare,” Dr Sheikh Sultan said. He also announced that as of Sunday free-of-charge internet services will be offered to faculty, administrators, students and visitors to Sharjah University City. The event was attended by Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, sheikhs, senior local officials, teaching and administrative staff and parents of graduates. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
