BELGIAN CROWN PRINCE EXPECTED IN JAKARTA SATURDAY
Jakarta, Nov 21 (ANTARA) - Belgian Crown Prince Philippe is scheduled to arrive in Jakarta on Saturday for a business visit until next Saturday, November 29, 2008, Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Teuku Faizasuah said here on Friday.
Faizasuah said during the visit to Jakarta from November 22-29, Prince Philippe would meet with Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo and business community to discuss business opportunities in transportation, and water and garbage management.
In addition to meeting Fauzi Bowo, Prince Philippe would also make a courtesy call on Vice President Jusuf Kalla, attend a round table meeting with the local business community and a seminar next Monday and Tuesday, a "working breakfast" with the chiefs of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) next Wednesday, Nov 26, 2008, at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Faizasuah said Prince Philippe and a Belgian economic delegation accompanying him would also go to Bandung, West Java, to meet with the West Java governor and provincial chamber of commerce and industry (Kadinda) officials, in addition to visiting the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on Wednesday, Nov 25, 2008.
The Belgian crown price would also dedicate the expansion of DesleeClama Indonesia factory in Purwakarta and PT Bekaert Indonesia in Karawang, West Java.
"Prince Philippe is also scheduled to meet with Transportation Minister Jusman Syafi'i Djalam at PT Pelindo-II at Tanjung Priok port on November 26, and have a business meeting on the port management system," Faizasuah said.
Meanwhile, Prince Philippe's wife, Princes Mathilde, would visit a micro-credit project in Bogor and attend a luncheon with Indonesian and Belgian businesswomen, and later, a gala dinner as part of a program to promote Belgium in Indonesia.
Belgium is one of Indonesia's traditional trade partners. Up to July this year, the total trade value between the two countries reached US$1.20 billion with Indonesia's exports to Belgium recorded at a total value of US$288 million and its imports from Belgium at US$375.5 million.
