UAE attains huge labour achievements

Director-General of the Arab Labour Organisation, Ahmed Mohammed Luqman affirmed that the UAE-led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has scored huge achievements locally and abroad, as it ensures the decent living conditions for its citizens and a number of Arab citizens as well.
In an exclusive interview with Emirates News Agency (WAM), he said that the UAE attaches priority to the employment youth graduates in line with the Emiratisation (Tawteen) strategic plan, in addition to the establishment of development projects in a number of Arab countries with the aim to create job opportunities for hundreds of thousands of unemployed people in those countries.
He underscored that the wise policies aim to enhance stability and social security in a number of Arab countries that undergo dire economic conditions, in addition to providing assistance to the governments to restore the security and stability.
Luqman also reiterated that the UAE achievements in the labour field have won appreciation from a number of governments and labour organisations regionally and internationally, becoming a role model in the wages protection system meant to protect the salaries of labour.
He also extended thanks to President Khalifa for conferring on him the UAE's First Class Independence Order. ''This Order was a surprise to me," Luqman said.
He indicated that his meeting with H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, has exhibited his keen interest on the efforts of Arab Labour Organisation, and reflects his approach towards the Arab joint field.
Lugman also praised the efforts of Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour, who laid the foundations that led to stability of relations between the production parties, strengthening the labour culture and stability in the labour market in the UAE.
Director-General of the Arab Labour Organisation commended the service in the labour city, noting that it demonstrates a proof for respecting labour rights, "I have never seen similar labour city in any other Arab country," Luqman added.
He described the charges on violations of the labour rights in the UAE, being circulated by some foreign agencies as biased and with political motives. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
