Ethiopian President expresses desire to be a trade partner to UAE in Africa

Addis Ababa: Ethiopian President Dr. Mulatu Teshome said his country is interested to be a trade partner to the UAE in Africa during a meeting with visiting UAE Minister of Economy Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri at the National Palace yesterday. The minister told WAM after the meeting that the Ethiopian president had stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in infrastructure. Al Mansouri described his meeting with the Ethiopian president as ''very successful'' as the latter highlighted the depth of political and economic ties between the two friendly countries, adding that Ethiopia welcomes discussions on joint economic, investment and trade fields. He said the Ethiopian president expressed his country's interest to open up investment for both public and private sectors in both countries in areas agriculture, livestock and food industries. Al Mansouri is leading a high profile public-private delegation on an official visit to Ethiopia from 19th- 20th March, to strengthen the cooperation ties in the areas of trade exchange and investments between the UAE and Ethiopia. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
