Al Hosn Gas achieved 93% of Shah Gas Development Project by end of 2013

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Saif Ahmed Al Ghafli, CEO of Al Hosn Gas, has said the company has achieved a cumulative progress of 93% in Shah Gas Development Project in 2013. ''The Drilling program is about 5 months ahead of our baseline schedule with 15 of our initial 20 wells ready for production at year end,'' he said in the editorial of the Al Hosn News, the company in-house magazine. The company, he added, recruited about 400 personnel during 2013 and the total headcount exceeded 1,000 at year end. The Emiratisation percentage reached 41% as it implemented several strategic initiatives involving Corporate, Administration and Finance business lines. All of this was achieved in a very safe and environmentally responsible manner, with just one lost-time incident (LTI) recorded out of 112 million man-hours collectively worked during the year. During the peak of construction last summer, about 38,000 contractor workforce worked at site. 2013 marked important milestones for Al Hosn Gas; the company received Abu Dhabi's "The Project of the Year" Award by the Oil '&' Gas Year and was awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Certification. ''Putting more work and efforts to fulfil our commitments is the way to achieve the Company's vision "To be a world-class company in the development of sour gas resources and a distinguished partner of choice". As we approach the project completion, we will be focusing on safe and smooth commissioning and start-up of the production facilities during late 2014,'' he said. ''A project of this magnitude comes along with major challenges, but I am confident that we can manage them with your continued dedication and hard work, he concluded. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
