Arab leaders support UAE sovereignty over its occupied islands

Kuwait: Arab leaders yesterday reiterated their firm rejection of Iran's continued occupation of the U.A.E.'s three islands and expressed their support for the U.A.E.'s right to, and sovereignty over, its islands of Greater and Lesser Tunbs and Abu Musa. In their final communique, The Kuwait Declaration, issued at the end of the 25th two-day Arab Summit in Kuwait City, the leaders also threw their weight behind the U.A.E.'s sovereignty over territorial water and airspace, continental shelf and exclusive economic area of the three islands, all an integral part of the U.A.E.. They also backed all measures and peaceful means that the U.A.E. takes to restore sovereignty over its occupied islands. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
