PRINCESS MATHILDE WATCHES BATIK MAKING PROCESS IN BANDUNG
Bandung, W Java, Nov 25 (ANTARA) - Belgian Princess Mathilde spent part of her visit here on Tuesday observing a Batik making demonstration at the Pakuan Kota building.
The wife of Belgium Crown Prince Pillippe watched enthusiastically at the demonstration held in a corner of the West Java governor's official residence.
Wearing a white sack dress in black stripes, the princess also chatted with the Batik craftswomen about what they were doing.
On the occasion, the wife of the West Java governor, Mrs Netty Heryawan, also showed the princess a mini display of handicraft articles produced by members of the West Java Handicraft Board (Dekranasda).
The princess and her husband Prince Phillippe were in Bandung as part of their five-day visit in Indonesia. The two royals were also scheduled to meet the West Java governor and local entrepreneurs.
Prince Phillippe would also visit the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), one of Indonesia's prominent institutes of higher learning.
