BCA TO GET RP36 TRILLION ADDITIONAL LIQUIDITY
Jakarta, Nov 25 (ANTARA) - Vice President of Bank Central Asia (BCA), Jahja Setiaatmadja, said his bank will get additional liquidity amounting to Rp36 trillion from state debentures (SUN) and Bank Indonesia (BI / the central bank) certificates (SBI).
"We are not worried about liquidity because we have additional liquidity amounting to about Rp30 trillion from disbursement of SUN which will fall due on December 25, 2008 and Rp6.3 trillion from SBI. So, in total, there will be Rp36 trillion additional liquidity," Setiaatmdja said.
Besides, Bank Central Asia will also obtain additional liquidity from disbursement of SUN worth Rp11.5 trillion, the BCA vice president added.
In the meantime, BCA's performance in the first nine months of this year was improving. It secured a net profit of Rp4 trillion in September as compared with that in the corresponding period a year earlier which stood at Rp3.36 trillion.
Its credit provision in September 2008 was recorded at Rp105.497 trillion, which showed an increase of 53.3 percent from that in the same period in 2007.
BCA's third party funds in September 2008 totaled Rp192.892 trillion, or an increase of 14 percent as compared to that in the same period in 2007 which was Rp169.245 trillion.
