UAE, Benin sign air transport agreement

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The United Arab Emirates and Republic of Benin have signed a bilateral cooperation agreement on air transport services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Khaled Ghanem Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, who inked the agreement with Isa Moussa Toure, Ambassador of Benin to the UAE, highlighted the importance of the open skies policy, adopted by the UAE, which contributed to promoting the UAE's economic status as a strategic destination and key regional and international trade hub, and attracting more foreign air carriers.
The signed air service agreement allows full flexibility on the routes, capacity, number of frequencies and types of designated air carriers by the two signatories, in any type of service (passenger or cargo).
The two sides hailed the depth of bilateral ties, expressing their sincere desire to boost them for serving mutual interests in all fields, particularly in economic and transport sectors.
UAE and Benin signed in 2013 agreement on avoidance of double taxation on income and protection and promotion of investments.
