UAE Embassy marks country's 10 years of strategic partnership with Germany

Berlin: UAE Embassy in Berlin has hosted a reception to mark the tenth anniversary of signing the strategic partnership between UAE and Germany and the opening of the Embassy building in Berlin. Former Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder and senior officials from Germany and UAE Foreign Ministry officials attended the event. Schroeder and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region attended the opening of the UAE Embassy in 2004. UAE Ambassador Juma Mubarak Al Jenaibi, in his remarks, noted that the signing of the partnership between the two countries marked a new phase of strong cooperation based on UAE leadership's appreciation of Germany's pivotal role in Europe and the world, as well as on Germany's appreciation of UAE's regional and international role. On his part, former chancellor Schroeder stressed on the importance of the strategic relations with UAE noting the country's important role in the Gulf region and the larger Arab region. Schroeder noted that Germany's relations with UAE were not only economic relations that flourish year after year but included coordination on the international level for the preservation of international peace and security.
