Reforms in judicial system of RK
Astana, 29 November 2008 (Khabar) - Kazakhstani reforms in judicial and legal system are great steps in further reforming of legal proceedings of the country. The republic did much work on increase of transparency and openness in this sphere. Member of Chamber of Lords of British Parliament, baroness Vivien Stern said this during the meeting with deputies of committee of Senate on legislation and judicial issues. Baroness Vivien Stern is famous as an activist of non-governmental organization “International jail reform” and she stands for abolishment of capital punishment. She says our republic advanced noticeably in reforming of judicial and legal system. Kazakhstan gradually realizes its international obligations. Such actions of any state have great international significance and Kazakhstan joined the countries that are open for the attention of world community.
Vivien Stern, Member of Chamber of Lords of British Parliament:
- Changes that occurred in Kazakhstan during independence years, moved out your state to one of most progressive countries in the world. I am glad Kazakhstan refused from death penalty, it is very positive fact. One more serious achievement of your republic is OSCE chairing, it demonstrates world community’s acknowledgement of country’s successes.
