UAE welcomes Switzerland's joining of VGF for protection of children

Brussels: The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Higher Committee for Child Protection of the Ministry of Interior, has welcomed Switzerland's joining to the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGF), an international alliance of law enforcement and private sector agencies dedicated to combating online child sexual exploitation and other forms of transnational child sexual exploitation. Major General Nasser Lakhraibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the office of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection, UAE representative to VGF, hailed the move, stressing that Switzerland is the latest country to join the VGT. He added that an official signing ceremony was held in Brussels Tuesday, and attended by both the U.S. and Swiss ambassadors to the European Union. Al Nuaimi emphasised keenness of the Ministry on implementing the directives of H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior to make the UAE a role model in child protection, adding that the UAE joined the VGT in 2010, and since it has been fully observing safety child measures in UAE in particular and world in general. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
