RAK Half Marathon promises fierce contest

Ras al-Khaimah (WAM): Entries for the world’s fastest half marathon are strictly limited to 2,500 places and registrations are on a first-come-first-served basis.
Early bird online registration for the ninth edition of the RAK Half Marathon has opened although the event is scheduled to take place only on February 13, 2015.
Entries for the world’s fastest half marathon are strictly limited to 2,500 places and registrations are on a first-come-first-served basis.
Organisers say the 2015 edition of the RAK Half Marathon, certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), promises fast times and fierce contests with the prospect of more records, a distinct likelihood in both men’s and women’s competitions.
With a steady increase in participation since the inaugural race in 2007 and an oversold event in 2013, organisers expect strong numbers in the next edition also.
The event is being organised by Premier Marathons and supports the Paul Tergat Foundation, an NGO established in 2005 as an initiative of the renowned Kenyan philanthropist and World Marathon record holder and five-time World Cross Country champion, in order to mobilise support for disadvantaged and marginalised persons and communities. – Emirates News Agency, WAM – Read more: http://www.khaleejtimes.com/nation/inside.asp?xfile=/data/nationgeneral/2014/June/nationgeneral_June9.xml§ion=nationgeneral
