Qatari Photographers to Exhibit Brazilian Journey at Katara

Doha, June 02 (QNA) - An exhibition of selected photographs taken by two Brazilians and two Qataris during their two-week expedition across Brazil opens at the Qatar Photographic Society's (QPA) Gallery 18 at Katara Cultural Village here Tuesday. The exhibition titled 'Qatar-Brazil: A Journey from the Amazon to the Desert' captures images from the Amazon rainforest, Favelas (slums) of Rio, the cityscapes of Doha, and the shifting sands of Qatar's deserts. The four photographers Aref Hussein, Abdullah Al Tamimi, Andre Joaquim and Leonardo Wen have collected scenic images captured during their journeys in Brazil and Qatar. Their work engages the viewer in an inspiring exchange of artistic discovery and cultural dialogue. A Journey from the Amazon to the Desert is a unique visual interpretation of this year's Qatar-Brazil 2014 Year of Culture, Katara said. The two Qatari photographers travelled to different places in Brazil following the collaboration between QPS and the Ministry of Culture. Their journeys captured the essence of life in Brazil through the Qatari eyes. The exhibition runs from June to July 1 from 10 and to 10pm. (QNA)
