Trains collide in northern Iran, one dead, 31 injured

TEHRAN,June 8(MNA) – One person was killed and 31 injured when a passenger train collided with a freight train near the city of Damghan in northern Iran on Thursday. The passenger train was en route from the northeastern city of Mashhad to Tehran. Semnan Province Governor General Mohammad Vakili said that most of the injured were taken to a hospital in Damghan and three of them were transported to a hospital in Semnan. He also expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by rescue workers.
