Abdullah bin Zayed meets with Portuguese Prime Minister

LISBON: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, U.A.E. Foreign Minister met here yesterday Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the regards of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, to the Portuguese Prime Minister. Coelho asked Sheikh Abdullah to convey his regards to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, wishing more progress and prosperity to the U.A.E. During the meeting, the U.A.E. Foreign Minister praised the relations between the U.A.E. and Portugal, thanks to keenness of leaders of both countries on strengthening them in all fields. The two parties discussed cooperation ties, and ways to develop them to include a number of fields in a way that opens new horizons of joint work between the two friendly countries. They also explored possibility of establishing partnerships in a number of different sectors. Sheikh Abdullah and Coelho exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, and the latest regional and international developments. For his part, the Portuguese Prime Minister welcomed the U.A.E. Foreign Minister and the delegation accompanying him, hoping that the visit would further contribute to strengthening ties between the two friendly countries. Sheikh Abdullah also met Portuguese Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation ties, especially in the area of health.
