Saudi non-petroleum exports show hike
Riyadh, December 1, SPA -- The non-petroleum exports of the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia increased this year to SR 11, 018 million from SR 8,
654 million in August 2007, according to a report released by the
Central Department of statistics and information at the ministry of
economy and planning.
Petrochemicals topped the list of the exports, followed by plastics,
ordinary metals and their products, electric equipment and devices,
and re-exported commodities.
As regards the imports of the Kingdom in August this year; these
jumped to SR 37, 638 million from SR 29, 005 million.
The imports included machineries, electric equipment and devices,
ordinary metals and their products, transport equipment, food
materials and clothes.
The UAE topped the list of the countries to which the Kingdom
exported last August. It was followed by China, India, Egypt and
Bahrain.
Meanwhile, China topped the list of the countries from which the
Kingdom imported last August. It was followed by the US, Japan and
Germany.
The Kingdom's non-petroleum exports to the GCC member states
increased last August to SR 2, 584 million from SR 2209 million in
August last year.
