Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Women Athletes launches website

Abu Dhabi (WAM): Supreme Committee of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Women Athletes has launched the new website of the award in a ceremony at the Family Development Foundation (FDF). The award's new website, in both Arabic and English, offers a comprehensive electronic guide to the award and the latest updates on its second edition which was announced early this month. In her remarks at the ceremony, Noura Al Ka’abi, Member of the Board of Supreme Committee of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Women Athletes and Head of the Media and Marketing Committee, noted that the new site explains ways of participating in the award through electronic application forms, provides browsers with all information on the award, facilitates communication with the award's committee, and offers an array of different services. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Award for Women Athletes, the world's biggest award of its kind, offers individual winners including those with special needs, and corporate winners, a total purse of Dh 2.4 million for its nine categories. The award is an initiative of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women's Union (GWU), Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Honourary President of Emirates Red Crescent Authority (ERC). Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is a patron of programmes aimed at promoting women development, empowerment and excellence as well as encouraging competition and achievement in sports. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
