7th tournament of President's Cup for Arabian horses begins in Belgium

OSTENDE: The Wellington racecourse in Ostende, Belgium, will tomorrow host the seventh tournament of the U.A.E.'s President's Cup for 5-year-olds and above pure-bred Arabians, who will compete in a160 kilometre endurance race. Thirteen horses will take part in the competition, which is the highest number of competitors to take part so far in Arabian horse racing in Belgium, with a chance to win total prize money of 30,000 Euros. The competition is organised as part of efforts to raise the profile of Arabian horses on the international platform and to strengthen their cultural heritage and value, following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and with the support of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, and the follow-up of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the U.A.E. President. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
