MAYORS OF NORTHEAST ASIAN COUNTRIES TO GATHER HERE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The "Northeast Asian Mayors" forum will take place on August 18-19 in Ulaanbaatar under a theme "Sustainable and inclusive cities". The action is to run in frames of the 375th anniversary of Ulaanbaatar city and "Friendly UB" programme. It will bring together representatives of China’s Tianjin, Khailaar, Shinyang, Hohhot cities; Mayors of Russia’s Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, of South Korea’s Pyongchang, Japan’s Niigata, and of the Mongolian capital, governors of Darkhan, Erdenet, Baruun-Urt and Choibalsan cities. Opening remarks will be made by the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, the Foreign Minister L.Bold, the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar E.Bat-Uul. The forum will consist of five sections--"Sustainable development of cities-Experience for success", "Presentation of results of Seventh World Urban Forum on sustainable development of cities", “City Management and service adequacy-technology and doing innovation experiences”, “Economic development of Northeast Asian countries, urban environmental management”, and “Green development”. By the forum programme, the gathered will receive a presentation about our capital city by touring it, then will run discussions. It is projected that a joint statement of cities' Mayors will be issued at end of the forum.
