ABOUT CELEBRATION OF 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF KHALKH RIVER BATTLE VICTORY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Defense Ministry and the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar city called Thursday a press conference on marking the 75эх anniversary of the Victory in the Khalkh River Battle. A decision to mar this anniversary and organize ceremonial events was made by the government, relevant events for the anniversary started this May in the capital city, for example, birthdays of Heroes of Mongolia L.Dandar, Ts.Olzvoi, L.Gelegbaatar and B.Dorj have been celebrated in their birthplaces and their statues have been erected. A round trip and meeting themed "Through the path of heroic friendship" have been co-organized by the military districts of Russian Irkutsk oblast and Transbaikal, essay and paintings contests about the Victory have run among secondary schools pupils. Moreover, a repair has launched to renovate the UB-based statues and monuments, and a decision has been made to grant a non-refundable aid of MNT 2 million to each of the war veterans. A united official measure for the anniversary will start August 23 in Ulaanbaatar city.
