CEREMONY RUNS FOR KHALKH RIVER BATTLE VICTORY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A celebration for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Khalkh River Battles started last Saturday. In frames of the anniversary, delegates from the Russian Federation including frontier troops and border officials from Federal Security Service have arrived here to attend the ceremonial events which are taking place across the country. The Russian delegation has been headed by Lieutenant General Vladimir Streltsov, a Deputy Head of the Border Guard Service of the Russian Federal Security Service. Last weekend, ceremonial measures also took place in the capital city dedicated to the anniversary. For instance, wreaths were laid to the Zaisan Memorial and the Monuments of Marshal G.Zhukov and Hero of Mongolia L.Dandar. It was followed by a photo exhibition and a concert of honor at the Central Cultural Center. Fireworks were performed last Saturday night on the central square as well. The anniversary events and measures will continue until August 29.
