SIDES DISCUSS CONSTRUCTION OF HYDRO POWER STATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Turkey B.Batkhishig last weekend received Mr Muslum Gunduz, a director-general of the Turkish ZTM company, in the Embassy of Mongolia,to discuss an issue of a hydro power station on the Khovd River in Mongolia. Mr Gunduz reported that his company will complete a feasibility study of the station this year and introduced to the Ambassador terms and methods of raising a capital for the object. The Ambassador said the Embassy of Mongolia will support this project and will connect the Turkish side with related Mongolian Ministries. According to the project, the hydro power station is to be erected in a canyon of the Khovd River, located some 40 km from Bayan-Olgii aimag’s center, under a finance of USD 160 million. It will produce 56 megawatt electricity to supply the western region. The ZTM company has also launched a developmental master plan for such stations in Mongolia.
