Najib Congratulates UniMAP Researchers For Winning International Awards
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak Monday congratulated four Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) researchers who won six awards at the British Invention Show (BIS) 2014 in London and one at the Haller Pro Invention Foundation in Poland.
The four UniMAP researchers are PhD student Farah Farhana Zainal, School of Mechatronic Engineering senior lecturer Dr Shahriman Abu Bakar, School of Computer and Communication Engineering senior lecturer Dr Amir Razif Jamil Abdullah and Prof Dr Rezuwan Kamaruddin.
"Well done to our four UniMAP researchers for making us proud by winning the awards," said Najib in his latest tweet on his Twitter account.
The prime minister also provided the link to the Bernama website on the news of the awards win by UniMAP.
Farah Farhana's Anti-Corrosion Coatings product, which was presented at the event by the university's Faculty of Engineering Technology (FETech) senior lecturer Dr Mohd Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah, clinched three awards.
They are the Double Gold Award in the 'Users' category, Double Gold Award in the 'Industry' category and a special recognition from the Romanian Inventors Forum (RIF).
Meanwhile, an 'Intelligent Peripheral Hemodynamic Assessment and Diagnosis Tool' (I-PHAD) product produced by Dr Shahriman won the Double Gold Award in the design category, and also received a special award, EUROINVENT Gold Medal.
Dr Amir Razif Jamil Abdullah also received a special award, EUROINVENT Gold Medal, for his product, the 'Triple Play Services Zero Cross Correlation for FTTH OCDMA System'.
Prof Dr Rezuwan received a special award from Pro Invention Haller Foundation in Poland via his innovative finding, 'Greenhouse with Fertigation in the Tropics'.
