Azerbaijan University of Languages, University of Haifa sign MoU

Baku, November 1, AzerTAc Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) and the University of Haifa have signed a memorandum of understanding in Baku. The deal will see the two universities carry out student and teacher exchange programs, organize reciprocal visits of students, arrange grants and scholarships for students and researchers, and create opportunities for Azerbaijani and Israeli scholars to join research programs, symposiums and conferences. Under the agreement, the two universities will also exchange sources with the aim of increasing their library collections. At the opening ceremony, AUL rector Samad Seyidov hailed the memorandum, saying it will contribute to the expansion of the relations between the two higher educational institutions. He emphasized the importance of the opening of the Centre of Azerbaijani Language and Literature at the University of Haifa. Mr. Seyidov also praised Azerbaijani-Israeli cooperation, saying it was developing on all fronts. Representative of the University of Haifa, Director at the Ezri Center Soli Shahvar said the Azerbaijani Studies Centre will open in Israel until the end of this year.
