Abdullah bin Zayed meets Malaysian Prime Minister

KUALA LUMPUR: The U.A.E. Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met yesterday in Kuala Lumpur with Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to the Prime Minister the greetings of the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces. The Malaysian Prime Minister asked Sheikh Abdullah to deliver reciprocal greetings, expressing his hope that the U.A.E. would enjoy more progress and prosperity. During their meeting, they discussed the existing bilateral ties of co-operation and friendship as well as ways to enhance them in the best interest of the two friendly countries. Praising the nature of the existing ties, which, he said, had developed because of the desire of both countries to support and develop them in various fields, Sheikh Abdullah also made reference to the Malaysian experience in promoting the concept of tolerance and moderation in Islam as well as to its economic development. This, he said, had contributed to the enhancement of its international reputation. Razak welcomed Sheikh Abdullah, noting that such visits would contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries. He also praised the urban development and development being experienced by the U.A.E., which, he said, was due to its wise leadership which has established a modern country with an international reputation. Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director of the Department of East Asia and Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the U.A.E.
