Social protection of workers
Astana, 11 December 2008, (Khabar) - “Arcelor Mittal Temirtau” confirms earlier taken obligations on social protection of employees.
The workers will be not discharged and the leadership will take all the measures to preserve salary. Frank Pannir, general director of company said this. He noted volume of production has reduced because of world financial crisis and only about 6 000 tonnes of cast iron is produced per day. Nevertheless, company, government and akimat agreed the workers will get the alternative job. “Arcelor Mittal Temirtau” who has 8 coal mines and 4 pits also continue to invest into development of production.
Frank Pannir, general director of “Arcelor Mittal Temirtau” JSC:
- We don’t discharge employees, we just reduced work time and workers of workshops will go to repair services and they will be engaged in repair of equipment and improvement of culture of production. So, they will continue working.
