PRESIDENT CHAIRS LIMITED CABINET MEETING
Jakarta, Dec 12 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono chaired a limited cabinet meeting, attended by a number of cabinet ministers, at his office here on Friday.
Started at 10:30 am , the meeting was attended among others by National Defense Forces (TNI) Chief Gen Djoko Santoso, National Police Chief Gen Bambang Hendarso Danuri, Acting Coordinating Minister for Economy Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Coordinating Minister for the People's Welfare Aburizal Bakrie, and Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Widodo AS.
Earlier, on Thursday, the president also chaired another limited cabinet meeting to discuss infrastructure development, possible massive lay-offs following the global financial crisis, ways to protect the real sector from the crisis, overcoming fertilizer scarcities, and adjustment of the fuel oil price policy to the world crude oil price.
Before chairing Friday's limited cabinet meeting, President Yudhoyono in the morning led a ceremony marking the burial of former foreign affairs minister Ali Alatas at the Kalibata Heroes' Cemetery.
The president acted as inspector, and a colonel of the Jakarta military command, as officer in charge of the ceremony.
In his address on the occasion, the President said Indonesia had lost one of its best sons who had served the nation as a brilliant diplomat, internationally-accalimed figure and also a highly-respected statesman.
"This military ceremony is a form of respect and appreciation for the meritorious services Alatas has rendered to the state and nation," President Yudhoyono said.
