POLICE ARREST BIG-TIME HEROIN DEALER
Jakarta, Dec 12 (ANTARA) - Police arrested big-time heroin dealer Hervina in the Cipinang area, East Jakarta, on Thursday (Dec 11) and confiscated 6.119 kg of heroin from the suspect, a spokesman said.
Criminal Investigation Department Head of the National Police, Commissioner General Susno Duadji said here on Friday.
"The heroin in that amount is the biggest find by the police this year. It is even bigger than crystal methamphetamine cases," he said, adding that Hervina had been tailed for several months.
He said arresting the suspect had not been an easy task because police first had to catch other suspects who were involved in possessing several grams of heroin only before they nabbed the big-time one with 6.119 kg heroin.
Duadji said that police learned from the documents they confiscated from Hervina's rented room in Cipinang that the suspect had sold about 30 kg of heroin in the past five months.
"If combined with the one already confiscated, the suspect already sold 36.119 kg of heroin worth Rp43 billion," Duadji said.
Apart from heroin, police also confiscated 561 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 1,762 ecstasy pills.
"The heroin, methamphetamine and ecstasy pills were imported," he said.
Now police are hunting down several other drug dealer suspects which were believed to be bigger than Hervina, he said.
