TWO IRISH ARTISTS TO JOIN ART EXHIBITION IN BALI
Denpasar, Bali, Dec. 13 (ANTARA) - Two Irish artists will take part in an art exhibition to be organized to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of Bharata Museum and Art Gallery, at Banjarangkan, Klungkung District, Bali Island.
The Irish artists were Barbara and Michael O' Faolain, Ida Bagus Ngurah Somya, founder of the Bharata Museum, said here on Saturday.
The one-month art exhibition dubbed "Changing Times" will be held from December 15, 2008, to January 14, 2009.
The statue and painting exhibition will also display the works of local artists such as I Wayan Beratha Yasa (Badung), Ida Bagus Gede Sutama (Denpasar), Ida Bagus Sunartama (Klungkung), Gusti Darma (Ubud-Gianyar), Made Brata Yasa, Ida Bagus Dharma Putra, Pande Wayan Mataram, and Ida Bagus Gede Sutama
The Bharata Museum was established three years ago to display the works of Ida Bagus Putu Windia, Ida Bagus Ngurah Somya's father, and other maestros including Le Mayeur and Antonio Blanko.
Born in Brussels in 1880, Le Mayeur settled in Bali in 1932 where he painted until his death in 1958. Le Mayeur's house in Sanur, Bali, containing a hundred paintings has been converted into a museum.
