POLICE TO OPTIMIZE AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR CORRUPTION ERADICATION
Semarang, Dec 13 (ANTARA) - National Police (Polri) Chief Gen Bambang Hendarso Danuri said the police would optimize the use of its budget funds to step up their operations to eradicate corruption.
"Polri has yet to get an additional allocation of funds because everything was already included in its budgetary project funding list DIPA) 2009 approved by the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission -III," Danuri said here on Saturday.
But the National Police chief did not mention in detain the amount of the state budget funds allocated to the police.
According to Danuri, the police would fund their law-enforcement tasks by optimizing the use of the allocated budget funds.
In relation with a warning from President Yudhoyono to the Police chief following a protest rally in front of State Palce which has disturbed a meeting chaired by the president, Bambang said the people who would like to stage a protest rally should respect the Law No.9/1998 on freedom of expression in public.
"We already have Law No.9/1998 and that regulation should be respected," the Police chief said, adding that the protesters who wanted to stage a rally should abide by the existing rules and regulations.
