Report on pilgrims in Madinah in post-Hajj period
Al- Madinah, Saudi Arabia, December 13, SPA -- All government and
private sectors participating in Hajj at Al -Madinah are proceeding
ahead with their works for the post- Hajj season, by providing
services for pilgrims coming to the city of the Prophet (BPUH) around
the clock.
In its report, Al-Madinah's Hajj Committee Secretariat noted that
the number of pilgrims, who arrived in Al Madinah until yesterday was
( 14,085 ), registering a percentage of 33 % lower than last year
while about 216 pilgrims departed the city.
The report pointed out that the number of the remaining pilgrims at
Al Madinah until yesterday (Friday) was 13,864 pilgrims, showing a
percentage of 30% lower than last year.
The report gave a split-up figure of pilgrims who arrived in Madinah
in the post-Hajj period in terms of nationality and citizenship and
said this accounted as Egyptians (4, 110), followed by Jordanians
(3,834) and then the Indonesians (1,958).
The report added the average daily traffic of buses carrying the
pilgrims and entering Al- Madinah city amounted to 182 buses which
transported about 9, 122 pilgrims while the hotels' occupancy rate
was estimated to be
68 % of the total capacity.
