UAE calls for allocating national budgets to develop youth capacities

NEW YORK, 4th February, 2015 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates last night called, before the United Nations, for the allocation of national budgets and financial resources to develop the capacities of young people, to train and educate them in the framework of qualitative national plans to be approved by all ministries, agencies and institutions of decision-making.
Faisal Abdullah Al Tunaiji, Member of the Federal National Council and Head of the UAE delegation participating in the Youth Forum, organised by Economic and Social Council, ECOSOC, at the United Nations headquarters, said that young people represent 18% of the world's population and they are the driving force for change and development, especially in the context of the revolutions of knowledge, modern sciences and communication.
Al Tunaiji, who is also Head of the Youth Parliament Forum in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, said that youth in the new millennium contributed to many political, economic and social changes in their communities, calling on communities to dedicate special care to the youth category to reflect their capabilities with the aim to enable them to contribute to global development.
He highlighted that the UAE's belief in this regard contributed to creating the Inter-Parliamentary Youth Forum as proposed by the UAE's Parliamentary Group under his chairmanship, noting that the forum took into account a number of key objectives, including the involvement of young people in political decision-making and sustainable development objectives. – Emirates News Agency, WAM –
