Indonesians Enthusiastic Depositors: Survey

Jakarta, Feb 6 (Antara) - A research by Nielsen Global Survey showed that most of Indonesian consumers are enthusiastic depositors. "More than two third or 70 percent of respondents among Indonesian consumers said they would save their excess of money," Managing Director of Nielsen Indonesia Agus Nurudin said here on Friday. The majority of the people choose to save their money as against the global average of only 48 percent, and Asia Pacific 62 percent, Agus said. Some or 40 percent of the people said they would use their money in excess for holidaying and one third or wanted to invest in shares or mutual funds. "Indonesian consumers plan their financial future with meticulous calculation," Agus said. He predicted there would be growing demand for financial services in the country with more people investing or depositing their money. Research in Asia Pacific regions showed 40 percent of the people said they could use excess of their money to buy new clothes. Some of the Indonesian consumers said they use money in excess to buy gadgets or such products of the latest technology "Gadgets are still high in demand in Indonesia. Around 30 percent of the respondents said that they need gadgets," he said.
