Saudi Arabia and Morocco sign sports memo

Rabat, December 14 , SPA -- Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin
Abdulaziz, Deputy President of Youth Welfare and Deputy Chairman of
the Saudi Olympic Committee, and Morocco's Minister of Youth and
Sports Nawal El Moutawakel signed here today a memorandum of
executive program for cooperation in the fields of youth and sports
in both countries for 2009.
In a speech on the occasion, Prince Nawaf bin Faisal extended
thanks to the Moroccan Minister, confirming the deep-rooted relations
between the two countries at the levels of the two leaderships,
governments and peoples.
The document signed today is to activate joint cooperation in
the field of sports and youth between the two countries with the
purpose of legalizing the common Arab action in general and sports
and youth in particular, the foundations of which were laid by late
Prince Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi senior official said.

Prince Nawaf bin Faisal added that the note included programs in
several sports and youth areas including football, athletics,
basketball, sports for those with special needs, equestrian,
cycling, karate, swimming, boxing, wrestling, gymnastics, golf and
sports for all, the exchange of youth delegations, programs for youth
leaders' training and the exchange of technical and management
expertise in the areas of sports medicine, projects and maintenance.
In the name of Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, General
President of Youth Welfare, Prince Nawaf bin Faisal extended
invitation for the Moroccan minister to visit Saudi Arabia.
For her part, Nawal El Moutawakel lauded the role late Prince
Faisal bin Fahd and his successor the General President of Youth
Welfare Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz were playing to further
consolidate the Arab Olympic committees.
The event was attended by senior officials on the two sides.
