Preparatory committee of the Saudi Qatari Coordination Council

Riyadh, December 14, SPA -- The joint preparatory committee of the
Saudi Qatari Coordination Council wrapped up a morning and evening
sessions here today to draft the agenda for the two country's
coordination council first ever meeting scheduled for Riyadh on
Tuesday.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency and the Saudi TV, the head
of the Saudi side in the committee Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Salem,
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, said issues of mutual
concern were discussed in the two sessions.

The aim of the council is to upgrade the excellent bilateral
relations between the two countries, he added.

He said the two sides showed identity of view points on ways to
promote the relations in all political, security, social, and
economic fields.

He noted that the strong will of the leaders of the two countries is
a guarantee for the conferees to reach the prescribed goals.

For his part, Qatar's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Saif
Mugaddam Albo-Einain, who heads his country's delegation to the
meetings, said the two sides worked as one team, reaching agreement
on several points on the agenda.

Several committees were formed to forge the topics to be discussed by
the coordination council's meeting, he concluded.
